This photos is also from the Festival of Ideas. Words are stenciled onto a sidewalk as people walk by.

UNFIXED/UNFIXABLE, installation Texts of ash will be installed on the paths around the AiOP tent. Derived from observations of common and fleeting moments on the street, each ‘drawing’ disintegrates quickly under the rush of ongoing urban life, echoing the temporal and transitory nature of the moments documented and the sites utilized. Art in Odd Places.

The Olek exhibit at Festival of Ideas featuring crocheted people. Lower East Side, New York City.

Another photo of the Olek exhibit that was at the Festival of Ideas. A man who has been crocheted into his outerwear by Olek in front of the New Museum uses a crocheted iron on a crocheted ironing board. It’s a real person. :)

The Olek exhibit of crocheted people at Festival of Ideas. Lower East Side, New York City.

I visited the Festival of Ideas which is currently taking place on the Bowery for a bit this afternoon. I fell in love with this exhibit by Olek in front of the New Museum.

The figure in the foreground is a real person! There was also a crocheted ironing board, crocheted television, crocheted toilet and a few other people crocheted from head to toe. I will probably post the rest later today or tomorrow.
