The New York City skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge as seen from the East River on a stormy day. New York City.
It’s currently Independence Day in the United States which is a holiday that celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It marks the point when the United States declared independence from Great Britain.
This particular photo was taken on a free ferry ride across the East River on the day of a storm. I love the dramatic lighting and the position of the storm clouds. The ferry happened to have a flag on the back of it which was waving wildly in the wind gusts. It looked striking against the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge and the New York City skyline which are lit by what little sunlight was left that day.
Happy July 4th everyone! :)
